Student Council Executive 2009-2010

Student Council takes care of all internal and external events concerning the student body. Our job is to organize events for the school (such as Semi Formal, Costume Ball and Charity Weeks). We are the voice of the student body. We try to make the school a better environment for students by listening to any concerns students might have, and relaying them to the administration.

GAB (Girls’ Athletic Board) Executive 2009-2010

The Girls Athletic Board, is a council comprised of nine female athletes from various grades. The GAB works closely with the BAB to hold various events throughout out the school. Each year we allow everyone in the school to be involved with intramurals, with the Ultimate Homeform Challenge. The GAB and BAB host various events throughout the year such as the Terry Fox Run and Grade 9 activity day.

The Boys Athletic Board helps to create school spirit and participation by getting not only athletes, but everyone in the school involved. Throughout the year we work together with the GAB to hold a variety of intramurals, a charity week, and organize the Terry Fox Run.

The Drama Council is responsible for promoting, creating, and continuing their traditions with dramatic events within the school. These include the School Play "Exhibit This," Sears Festival, One Acts etc.

Visual Arts Council 2009-2010

Visual Art Council’s goal is to highlight all artistic disciplines at LP while creating and introducing unique displays for the entire school to see. Throughout the year we take on a variety of projects, ranging from display cases to poster designs and finally culminating in May Lyrics and Artbuz, Lawrence Park’s own art gallery featuring the best work of art students from all grades and skills levels. In short, Art Council is the voice of every art enthusiast in the school, from the student doodling in their notebook to the art teachers themselves.
