LAWRENCE PARK C.I.
ATHLETICS PROGRAM
Amor Doctrinae
Floreat
The school motto
means “Let the Love of Learning Flourish”.
We hope that this statement not only guides you through your academic
career, but also in athletics.
SPORTS MOTTO
Our goal is to create the
opportunity for success and encourage you to reach your full potential.
The duration of an
athletic contest is only a few minutes; while the training for it may take many
weeks of arduous work and continuous exercise of self-effort. The real value of sport is not the actual
game played in the limelight of applause; but the hours of dogged determination
and self discipline, carried out alone, imposed and supervised by an exacting
conscience. The applause soon dies away,
the prize is left behind but the character you build is yours forever.
SCHOOL TEAMS
LPCI has a strong athletics program; the following is a list of all the
teams that were offered last year.
Please see the teacher listed for more information. If you have transferred to Lawrence Park from
a different school (not those entering Grade 9), you will need to fill in an
application, see Mr. Ivan or Mrs. Hall ASAP.

THE PANTHER

Our school mascot is a panther.
The panther symbolizes quickness, grace, cunning and determination. A panther is a sleek animal that relies on
its natural instincts and learned behaviours to survive and obtain its
goals. Your goal for your high school
career may be academic and/or athletic in nature. In order to be successful in achieving your
goals you should strive to follow the Panther standard. PANTHER CODE?
SCHOOL SONG
Give a cheer for the good
old gold and blue!
Let’s keep our colours
strong and true!
We’ll keep on trying
With hope undying.
Our spirit will shine
through
RAH RAH!
Our motto: “let love of
learning flourish”.
To work for our goals we’ll
always strive.
Give a cheer for our talent
and our teamwork, too.
And make that cheer a
vict’ry cry.
Let’s go! We won’t stop
until it’s victory
For the gang at L.P.C.I.
GIRLS’ and BOYS’ ATHLETIC BOARD
(G.A.B. & B.A.B.)
This is a dynamic group of LP students that will organize a number of
special events this year. The G.A.B. and
B.A.B. are organized by Mrs. Hall and Mr. Ivan respectively. Each of them consists of a President,
Vice-President, Intramural Convenor, Liaison Officer, Secretary, Treasurer, and
three Executive Officers, which are selected at the end of the previous
year. Some of the events to look forward
to this year are: Grade 9 Activity Day, Intramurals at lunch, Superstars,
Staff/Student Challenges and the Athletic Banquet in June. Listen to announcements and check out the
bulletin board in the respective gym for more information.
BLUE AND GOLD ATHLETIC LETTERS
It is a distinct honour to receive your Blue or Gold letter. Students can earn points towards their
Athletic letters by participating on school teams and being involved with the
athletic program in general. Students
must earn both participation and citizenship points to be granted their letter.
