WORLD ISSUES ORAL BOOK REPORT

Your book report will have three basic components, the focus of this assignment will be the second and third parts. You will have a maximum of 20 minutes to make your presentation. If you take more than the maximum allowable time you will lose 1 mark / minute.

If you take more than the maximum allowable time you will lose marks.

Part 1

Give an accurate notation of the following: (5 marks)

· Title of the book

· Author’s name

· Date of publication

· Fiction or non fiction

· Where the story takes place

Part 2

Briefly describe the plot of your book. If you have read a series of short stories, indicate the common theme and describe the plot of one of the stories. (10 marks)

Part 3

Your assessment of the book ( 15 marks)

· Was it well written? Give specific examples from your book

· Would you recommend it to others? Why/ why not? Give specific examples from your book.

· What did you learn from this book? Give specific examples from your book.
