How to prepare a bibliography
A bibliography is a list of the sources you used in preparing your project.
1. Bibliographic entries are not numbered. They are arranged in alphabetical order by
author or editor's surname. If there is no author, then, by the first significant word.
("A", "An", "The" are not significant words).
2. For the format for each type of entry (book, encyclopedia, magazine….) follow the
examples given in the Student Research Guide found on the LP Library web site.
3. Entries begin at the margin with all the other lines indented five spaces from the left
margin.
4. When typing, you leave 2 spaces after a period and after a colon unless there is an
abbreviation, in which case you leave just one space.
5. The word "Bibliography" should be typed at the top of the page.
6. Capitalize all significant words in the title.
