BOOK REPORT  (35 marks)

Your book report will have three basic components; the focus of this assignment will be the second and third parts.  You will chose a book from the attached list.

Part 1

Give an accurate notation of the following: (5 marks)

     ·      Title of the book

     ·      Author’s name

     ·      Date of publication

     ·      Fiction or non fiction

     ·      Where the story takes place

 

Part 2

Briefly describe the plot of your story.  If you have read a series of short stories, indicate the common theme and describe the plot of one of the stories. (10 marks)

 

Part 3

Your assessment of the book (20 marks)

     ·      Was it well written? Give specific examples from the book

     ·      Would you recommend it to others? Why/ why not?  Give specific examples from the book

     ·      What did you learn about your country from this book? Give specific examples from the book

-         Would you choose to visit this country as a tourist?  Why/why not?  Give specific examples from the book

 

 

 

EVALUATION

 

Book Report - 35 marks

 

Rough Work - 10 marks all rough work must be handed in on the day of your presentation

                                      

Your oral report should be no less than 5 minutes and no more than 15 minutes long.  If your report is too short or too long you will loose 1 mark/minute

 

You will sign up for presentations on the list posted.  They will start on May 29h  /May 30   2006

This is a summative evaluation if you miss your presentation you must provide a doctor’s note.
