Lawrence Park Collegiate
Grade 10 Science/Library Project
Black History Month
Mr. James/ Ms. Low
February is Black History Month Canada-wide. In order to recognize and learn about the contributions of many black scientists worldwide, you are being asked to create a project on a sheet of Bristol board celebrating the contributions of these famous scientists. The project is being written in conjunction with the library here at Lawrence Park.
The project will encompass a series of pictures of the scientist of your choice and pictures of their discovery. Your scientist will be selected from a given list of scientists located at the bottom of this page.
The project must include:
i) A title at the top of the Bristol board of the scientist.
ii) A 200 word typed double-spaced word essay about the scientist and his/her discoveries.
iii) The essay must be attached to the Bristol board with a title page. Your essay should answer the following questions: Who was the scientist? Where did they live and carry out their work? What did they discover? What was its importance to the world? How did they discover it? How did the rest of the world put their discovery into practice?
iv) Your essay must include a bibliography.
v) The pages on the essay must be numbered.
